Two accolades in one day, Gold Award and Best in Show

Pro-Gardens Ltd and SAiGE Longlife Decking Ltd have teamed up in 2016 to produce a show garden at a series of shows to showcase SAiGE’s composite decking with Pro-Gardens Landscape Design and Construction skills.

The shows that we are attending in 2016 are Blenheim Flower Show & Stratford Home & Garden Show.

Work started on the basic premise for the Malvern show garden 2016 towards the end of last year. We started by thinking of engaging ideas, themes and a basic brief and worked forwards from that point.

The brief that we set for ourselves was relatively simple. After completing a number of classic designs over the last year we decided we wanted to produce something slightly more contemporary. Being inspired by Piet Oudolf’s masterful work on ‘The High Line’ in Manhattan we took the ethos of re-imagining older urban spaces with modern contemporary design features.

We have incorporated a freestanding water wall into the garden which is a bespoke piece which was designed in conjunction with H20 Designs and will be the main focal point of the garden. After deciding on a planting scheme, which emphasises movement with drifts of grasses punctuated with splashes of vibrant colour. We set about putting the final touches to the arrangement of the hard landscaping to suit the garden. The SAiGE composite decking draw the eye into the garden to the paved area which accommodates a contemporary seating solution, and we have added a painted aluminium wall that brings a sense of enclosure to the garden.
